Four Thieves Solid Balm .
The properties of the Four Thieves Balm lies in the special blend of herbs and essential oils that is said to kill airborne bacteria. It can also stimulate and enhance the immune system and works as a powerful antiseptic, antiviral and anti-infectious treatment.
The infusement contains Cinnamon bark oil, garden Mint, Clove oil, Rosemary oil, Camphor oil, Lemon Myrtle, Sweet Orange oil and kawakawa infused Apple Cider Vinegar.
This balm can be rubbed all over your hands before you sanitise. Rubbed on the inside of your mask as an inhalant. Behind your neck and under your feet. Its gentle enough to rub on our children hands or sensitive skin. It contains alongside the special blend of herbs and spices, moisturising Shea Butter.
The tale of the Thieves Balm is intriguing.
" As people began to succumb to the plague, four spice traders decided to loot the homes of the sick and dying. Miraculously none of them, though being often in contact with the dead, contracted the disease. They believed that so long as they breathed in certain spices, they would be protected from the miasma of illness and could loot to their heart’s content. The men placed some of the balm inside their nostrils, and some on dark cloth which they made into masks. Covering their faces and wearing dark cloaks sprinkled with Thieves Oil, they were protected from contacting the contagious and deadly pandemic known as the black death.
It is interesting to note, that during this time of the plague, physicians were seen wearing long black robes, wide brimmed hats, and masks that appeared to have a beak. The reason for doing this is that the masks were said to have contained a combination of herbs, spices, and essential oils that the physicians would breathe in at the end of the beak in order to keep themselves safe from those afflicted with the deadly illness".
Long story short the theives were caught and the King gave them leniency if they gave up the special blend of oils which seemingly protected them from the disease for so long. And that's how it came about the special blend of the Four Thieves Balm.
Ingredients: raw NZ beeswax, coconut oil, shea butter, olive oil infused with kawakawa, essential oils of Cinnamon oil, Clove oil, Rosemary oil, Camphor oil, Lemon Myrtle, Sweet Orange oil and kawakawa infused Apple Cider Vinegar, Dried garden Mint.
